Dear All--I left a message on the board one evening last week regarding my husband's recent diagnosis of wet MD,and asked for help finding a good doc/clinic.
The next morning I came to this site, not expecting any responses right away. You all brought me to tears with your wonderful notes and suggestions...words will never adequately express the deep gratitude I feel. Thank you seems so insufficient.
Maybe I can now help someone else with a wonderful site I just discovered (maybe all of you know about it already...remember I'm a novice at this!). It is a US News & World Best Hospitals/Departments; you can research any field in any geographical location and get the top hospitals for that particular specialty. From that site you can get to the various home pages for the facility and the department. This may be of help to Joe in Chicago.
The address is: www.usnews.com/usnews/nycu/health/hosptl/tophosp.htm
It was enormously interesting to see that Univ of Wi is in the top 15 eye specialties. I am however making an appt with JohnsHopkins; most of the docs here are affiliated with UW in some manner, and while they may know their stuff, I am sure we need another opinion from "new blood". Best wishes to all of you and again thanks a million.

Please help with advice on recovery tips. I will be having laser surgery to repair a macular hole soon. It is my understanding that I will have to be face down for two weeks. I figure that about the end of the two weeks I will have figured out the secrets to coping. If someone has some tips on this and also any other recovery information, I would very much appreciate hearing from you. Would also like to know how your vision improved.
Thanks,
Dick Armour
