My daughter is 37 and was just diagnosed in July. She has had one Visidyne treatment and it is holding for 5 weeks. Her's is myopic degeneration and is wet. The classic type. If interested email me and I will forward your message to her.

Hello I'm 41 and just found out I have dry MD. Yes it is a scary time and You have so many
things to go through and feel and sort out. Keep focus
on letting this become a challenge to you not a death
penalty. Your strength will come with knowledge of this
disease, support from friends and family and your faith
in God or at least that is how I have decided to face
my likes challenge.
Believe me that there is nothing you shall face that
God dosent bring good out of it if you will only be brave
and trust that the Lord know just what he is doing
and you just happen to be the vessel he chose to use
I pray you will let this become a strength for you
and you choose to control your new challenge and don't
all it to control you.
Prayerfully

I am sorry to hear that you have macular degeneration. But you are not alone. Some 10 to 13 million Americans have it too. Both of my parents and my sister have it too. Go through this web site very carefully and completely. It is packed with information. Read the Archives. They have some 10 or 12 topics with messages from people who have macular degeneration and have tried various treatments. Look up the List of Medications to Take with Caution. Check to see if you are taking any of them. Read about the wet and dry types of macular degeneration. There is plenty to read and see about macular degeneration. You might want to order the AMDF's Quarterly Newsletter too. I like it. You might too. You can go directly there by typing in www.macular.org/spotlite.html Best of luck to you. Don't give up hope. We will beat this disease someday. Many people are working towards a cure and ways to treat it. Your friend, Mary Alice Woods
