Posted by Tom McHale Jr. on September 07, 2000 at 20:10:21: It has been 4 weeks since my Dad's 5th PDT/Visudyne treatment for wet macular. His eye is dry and vision is maintaining 20/32-2 (from 20/200). His next visit is Oct. 5, 2000. He usually starts leaking 8 weeks after treatment but this was his first "totaly dry" follow-up visit since he started PDT/Visudyne in January, 2000. I hope all of you have the same success as my Dad.
Sincerly
Tom McHale Jr.

Dear Readers,
My Father has been diagnosed with wet macular degeneration. I would appreciate knowing, Tom McHale, how your father is doing now after these many months. It is important to me to find my Father the best of care and give him workable options. Anyone please feel encouraged to respond should you have any information about this disease, the treatments available or possible cures. Thank You. Lori Ginader

I have just been told that to save any of my vision I need 2 years of light activated treatment which is 4 times a year at $3000 each visit. I was told that it is not covered by Medicare. Does anyone know about this? Thanks

Has anyone used the Avastin treatment? Also I am wondering if anyone has had the macular translocation surgery that Duke Eye Institute is doing?
