Why is it that every website about eye diseases and every eye product in the store has smaller writing than any other?

I would like to respond to the message posted by the 24 year old pilot that has lost his license. I feel deeply for you, I am 26 years old and have been struggling with macular degeneration. I was a hair stylist but that has become difficult for me and I have had to change professions. The loss of color, peripheral vision, acuity...it is hard to judge how long you will be able to do what you love for. My last optometrist visit gave me some hope...he said that in our twenties, the disease has a tendency to slow down and possibly even stabilize for a time. This is what I hope for as I am now a yoga teacher and have no intentention of giving up. I have already had to give up a lot in this battle with my vision including my driver's license, the ability to travel alone, and my dignity at times when there is people who just cannot understand. I wish you and all others the best of luck, it has its trials but show your strength and you will come out just fine. You just have to make a few adjustments along the way. My husband laughs at me because I can put my makeup on without a mirror...we see it as a talent! Take heart in those who support you...they always will.

Went to get new vision Rx for stronger bifocals. Opthamologist said there is a change in the color of the macula in R eye. Asked if family history of Macular Degeneration - no. Said I am young for this change, just turned 50. What does this "change in color" mean?
